Painted from the ground.

Our watercolor maps are drawn from published course geometry: greens, fairways, bunkers, water, and hole routes. The painting is a visual interpretation of those features, not a survey. A course may have only some holes mapped, and the page shows that coverage.

A number we know. A space when we don’t.

We show available par, handicap, yardages, course ratings, and slope ratings for each tee. A dash marks a value that is not available. Tee-specific data stays associated with its tee and rating category. A course rating is a golf difficulty measure, not a customer review.

How course comparisons work.

State and city directories group the courses and layouts in our catalog by their listed location. Tee lengths reflect the available data and may not cover every tee. City comparisons use up to 16 courses, prioritizing those with maps; the table states when it covers only part of the directory. Courses with missing measurements remain unranked for those measurements.

Green sizes, holes with water, bunker counts and walking routes are estimates derived from mapped geometry. Incomplete mapping can undercount features. A mapped walking route is not a guarantee that walking is permitted. These comparisons describe available measurements, rather than a quality rating or a recommendation of the best course.

Course conditions, access, tee positions, and daily pin locations can change. Use the course’s own website or phone number for current playing conditions and bookings. Ariad is an independent golf app and does not operate the courses in the atlas.
